My breeding program

Breeding is a very serious subject. My aim is to breed healthy, very playfull and well socialized kitten first.

We scan our sphynx for HCM every year.

I send the scan results + ADN samples to Antagen Laboratory. They've started a program on the HCM issues  in the sphynx breed.

I'm registred at TICA as "volontary ethic cattery.

Our cats are not machines to produce kittens, we love them and treat them as family members.

Health follow up, for all cats

  • test for FIV and Felv when the cat arrive in the cattery (the cattery is closed)
  • HCM tested every 12-18 month at least
  • Regular annual shots.
  • Twice a year regular deworming,
  • Every suspect things is shown to a veterinarian

Food

I buy a very high  quality food for our cats. They have dry food all day long, and once a month I give them wet food for their great pleasure...

Dry food :

  • Royal Canin
  • IAM (but I return to RC)
  • Dreamies (candies)

Wet food :

  • Applaws
  • natural thon, or shrimps
  • Gourmet gold
  • Almo nature

Breeding

  • The queens have only one pregnancy per year, and will retire at 4 years old at the latest.
  • Stud services are not accepted mainly because of diseases transmissions

Kittens

Kitten sold as Pets:

  • All the kittens will be spayed or neurered before to leave us for their new family
  •

Kitten sold as reproducers:

There will be only a few kitten who will be sold with breeding rights because :

  • The Sphynx breed  has already a poor genetic pool. It's our responsibility to plan breeding programm carefully,
  • That's why I let the experimented breeders take the responsibility to choose the futur breeders to whom they will let their kitten go
  • We are sure our beloved kittens will have a nice life as pet, and will have a better health for their entire life (much less cancers), and will not be birth machines.
